New iQM3, now with hemolysis detection, provides automated quality assurance with every sample, continuously and in real-time. Unlike traditional QC, error detection is performed in seconds vs hours. Errors are automatically corrected and documented for a complete picture of quality. Integrated on the new GEM Premier 7000 system, iQM3 assures quality before, during and after sample analysis, for improved patient care and efficiency.

Ensures the integrity of every sample

Now with hemolysis detection, iQM3 ensures sample quality across the most common preanalytical errors (e.g., hemolysis, clots, bubbles).

HIGHLIGHTS

Hemolysis detection at the POC

Detects hemolysis in 45 seconds helping inform appropriate patient management decisions.

Automatic real-time error detection

Performs continuous checks—before, during and after every sample, using five types of continuous quality checks, performed throughout GEM PAK use-life. New IntraSpectTM technology offers quality checks during every sample analysis.

Immediate, automatic correction and documentation

Initiates intelligent corrective actions, if any sensor, CO-Ox, system stability or sample error, is detected, specific to source of error. Documents all actions in real-time; no manual documentation required, minimizing regulatory requirement efforts.

How is whole blood hemolysis detection possible?

GEM Premier 7000 with iQM3 utilizes patented technology for hemolysis detection, similar to traditional laboratory analyzers. Based on a photometric measurement of whole blood, the hemolysis module includes:

  • Acoustofluidic flow cell for plasma separation and hemolysis detection
  • Optical detector and LED light source to illuminate the optical flow cell for absorbance calculation at each wavelength

If detected, hemolysis is flagged on the K⁺ result

When levels exceed institution-defined thresholds, hemolysis is flagged on the K+ result, which appears on screen, on the printout and in GEMweb® Plus 500 Custom Connectivity.
